Skin Neglect

Lately iv'e been seeing more and more people talk about how terrible this and that product is and how they can't find a foundation that works for them. Although yes some foundations will work for you better then others a lot of the time it isn't the foundation thats causing the problem at all.

It's your skin and your neglect for it that's the problem!

The importance of hydration for our bodies is hardly news breaking however a lot of the time when i'm doing makeup I find myself working on incredibly dehydrated skins. We all know our body is made of more then two thirds of water. We know it helps with our bodily functions, kidney function, bowel movements - the list goes on. Knowing all of this we still dehydrate ourselves and expect our skin to magically look immaculate from applying makeup. When your skin is screaming for a drink of water, it's absolutely absurd to think makeup is your answer or that you'll even find a foundation you like the look of.

A few months back I was having some health difficulties and my skin was the worst it had ever been which is no surprise to me all. I'm a strong believer in face mapping & that you can tell a lot about a persons health through their skin.

Because of this I was avoiding my once loved makeup free days and not giving my skin the treatments/air it needed to speed up my cells turn over process. This was such a mistake and so detrimental to my skins health.
Makeup is a lot of fun & when you're creative it can be an outlet which can be hard to put down but it's important to remember that those makeup free days will give your creative days a better canvas to work with.

Since looking after my health and my skin i'm finding products that I thought were shit really aren't at all & I think once you're aware of all of this also you might feel the same.

  1. I've found in the last year or so my skin doesn't seem to know what it wants to do, I put it down to nearly being 30, but never actually thought about my water consumption (which I really need to work on) I need to start paying more attention to my skin so am interested in information like this!

I might do a post next about the difference between using cosmetic skincare compared to cosmeceutical skincare next because that might have something to do with it!! :) xx
